In a suburban neighborhood, barking and whining broke the tranquility of the night. The disturbing noise kept happening for several days already. Some annoyed neighbors called the local dog catchers to take away the dogs. Dog catchers usually throw away the animals they catch like trash.

Luckily, some animal rescuers heard of the plight of the dogs. They will try to get the poor animals before the dog catchers arrive. They will race not only with the dog catchers but with the weather as well. Heavy snow fell for several days now, and the dogs might die of the cold and hunger. The rescuers needed to act fast.

Race to save the dogs

Early the next morning, the rescuers leap into action. They went to the reported location of the origin of the barking and whining. The site was an old abandoned house surrounded by snow. They expect to find the dogs inside the house.

The house was in ruins with some broken floors that lead to spaces barely big enough for a person to fit. The house had so many hiding places. The team persevered to keep looking for the dogs.

A rescuer went down to one of the broken floors. In a dark corner, he finally found the dogs huddled together. The rescuer had to crawl his way to reach the two puppies. One by one, he carried each dog out of the house. Both puppies appear to be barely two months old.

Find new homes for Heidi and Phoebe

The rescuers named them Heidi and Phoebe. They happily brought the little creatures home, where the rescuers cleaned and fed the puppies. After a few days, the duo returned to their jolly selves and loved to play around the house.

The rescuers tried to contact people interested in getting dogs. Luckily, after two months, Heidi and Phoebe found new homes in Switzerland.
