The odds of survival for animals born in the wild are quite low. If their mother was murdered or has abandoned them, there is no one left to provide them with nourishment and protection. They would either perish from hunger or dehydration, or become the prey of larger animals.
This could have happened to a fox cub that was later named Dinozzo. His mother was killed in an automobile accident when he was just three years old. He was lucky that someone found him and then took him to a veterinarian. The little animal was then adopted by the nice German couple Werner and Angelika Schmaing.
And in his new home, he formed a close relationship with a caring Border Collie.
Ziva, like many female dogs, had a strong maternal instinct. As soon as she encountered Dinozzo, she rushed to his side and began to cuddle him. It appeared as though she wanted to comfort him and make the little animal feel secure.
From then on, they would remain together. Ziva would always be beside Dinozzo. And if she was not present, the fox cub would begin searching for her. He would make whimpering sounds and become agitated until she returned.
And as the fox grew, so did their relationship.
In addition to Ziva and Dinozzo, Werner and Angelika have other pets. They had an adopted Bengal cat and two piglets.
Dinozzo, who is now fully grown, has created ties with all of the other animals in the home. However, her best buddy would remain to be Ziva. They would always eat and play together. When they have become exhausted, they sleep and rest side by side.
The fox has never been kept in a cage by their owners. He is also allowed to go anywhere he wants to – on and off the premises since they live without a fence next to a wooded region. However, Dinozzo rarely strays from their residence. This implies that he prefers his current location.
