Reunions are one of the most touching moments in life. No one knows this better than a woman named Cheryl, who saw her pit bull again more than a year after they were separated.
Roxy, the pit bull, had been rescued by Villalobos Rescue Center, which focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned pit bulls. The staff at the facility knew Roxy to have an attitude. The dog was not affectionate nor sweet to the humans around her.
Fortunately, they got a chance to reconnect the dog with its previous owner. However, Tia Torres, founder of Villalobos Rescue Center, was not sure how the meeting would go. What if the dog didn’t remember Cheryl?
“This is a concern of mine,” Tia said. “Roxy comes at you pretty hard.” Still, the meeting with Cheryl was set.
As it turned out, Tia was not the only one who was concerned. Cheryl was not too confident of her meeting with Roxy, either. She was also worried that the dog would not remember her.
Cheryl held on to the hope that Roxy would remember her somehow after everything they had been through together. And her hope was greatly rewarded.
When Roxy and Cheryl were finally reunited, Tia and the other staff from the rescue facility couldn’t believe their eyes. The tough, stubborn pit bull they had known melted before their eyes and transformed into a happy fur baby.
Roxy couldn’t seem to get enough of her mom. She kept jumping up on her while mom kept hugging her. She gave her mom lots of kisses. The dog’s joy at being reunited with Cheryl was evident. Tia said she had never seen the pit bull behave that way.
The love between Roxy and her mom was so strong that even years of separation were not able to destroy. Tia couldn’t hold back her tears as she watched the pit bull grow soft in her mom’s arms.
Cheryl also couldn’t stop crying. Finally, after about a year and a half of being away from her, her baby Roxy was home.
