While the majority of people disregard dogs with disabilities, some seek them out and care for them.

Mazar, a Labrador mix, had a traumatic start in life in Afghanistan. He spent his formative years as a stray, roaming the streets. Inevitably, he was involved in an automobile accident, crushing both of his hind legs.

No one cared enough to immediately take him to the vet. With his damaged legs, he continued to roam the streets. His legs were irreparably damaged by the time he was rescued.

Due to the vets’ limited resources in Afghanistan, they contacted Louise Hastie of War Paws, an organization that assists dogs in war-torn countries. Mazar was transported to the United Kingdom, where he underwent surgery to amputate his back legs. The surgery went smoothly, and he regained his health.

Helene Svinos, an animal lover, saw Mazar’s video and her heart ached for him. Even though she already is the owner of a bunny, five dogs, and two cats, she contacted Louise and submitted an adoption application.

Mazar’s life was transformed when he became a member of Helene’s family. He adored running and was capable of sprinting even with only two legs. He was capable of defeating his fur siblings in sprint races.

Many folks were perplexed as to why Mazar lacked a gadget that would help with his mobility. But the dog didn’t like wheelchairs. Helene did not coerce him into it, as not utilizing wheels had no adverse effect on his health.

Mazar brought happiness to his new family. Helene could never be upset in his presence because he was perpetually smiling. She was relieved to have him around when the pandemic began.

The pandemic had a detrimental effect on people’s mental health, particularly health care workers like Helene. She would return home physically and mentally weary from her work as an emergency room physician. Mazar and his fur siblings cheered her up.

Mazar had been living a wonderful life with Helene and his fur siblings for several years now.
