Dogs not only have amazing abilities; most of them also have great instincts to help and rescue humans. The dog in our story, Norman, came to the aid of a drowning teenage girl and saved her – even though he could not see.

Norman was a rescue dog. When his human mom saw him at the shelter, she immediately knew that there was something special about him. She adopted him and took him home.

Unfortunately, Norman suffered from an eye condition. It could not be cured, and the doctor said the dog would eventually lose sight in both of his eyes.

True enough, after some time, Norman began to go blind. However, this did not stop his mom from taking him out for walks or frequent runs on the beach near their home.

One day, Norman’s mom decided to take her fur baby on the beach. She knew how the dog loved to run on the sand, so she took him there for his playtime and exercise.

At that time, a teenage girl and her brother were swimming by the river. At low tide, the river’s water was not deep. But when the tide came in, the water rose quickly.

The girl and her brother got caught in the rising water. The girl’s brother eventually reached the shore, but she couldn’t fight the strong pull of the tide. She was drowning, and she called for help.

Norman, who was quite a distance away, heard the girl’s voice. He ran toward her direction. His mom, not knowing where he was going, followed him closely. When they got near the girl, she realized what was happening.

Before she knew it, the dog leaped into the water and swam toward the girl. But he was blind, so he didn’t know which direction to take her.

His mom called out to him and told him to follow her voice. The dog did as she said, and soon, both he and the girl were out of the water. Norman saved the young girl’s life. Watch his amazing rescue here.
