Disabled dogs are often unwanted. If you go to shelters, you may find that they are usually the ones left behind.

But not all people will let these dogs be lonely; a lot of pet owners are coming up with smart and quirky ways to make the lives of disabled dogs much easier and more comfortable.

A tiny pup named Gracie had a challenging start in her life. After she was born, her owners decided to dump her without any doubt because she was born without front legs.

However, she was strong, and she refused to give up on life.

Amazing Gracie survives

When the disabled dog made her way into the veterinarian’s office, she didn’t have hair around her eyes, and pests were crawling all over her body. But Gracie was strong, and she had the will to live!

After being cleaned up, Gracie had been adopted by the Turney Family, which luckily was running an animal shelter. The family had an experience taking care of a paralyzed dog, so they were already familiar with raising a disabled pup.

However, the only worry that the Turney Family had was dealing with Gracie’s mobility. The pup was growing quickly, but she was not eligible for wheelchair fitting yet. Gracie needed a convenient solution that she could easily grow out of.

Gracie could walk again!

Luckily, a 12-year-old boy named Dylan came to Gracie’s help. The boy crafted an improvised wheelchair. And it’s not just any wheelchair — it’s a chair made out of LEGO blocks! Creative, indeed.

This type of dog wheelchair was perfect for Gracie. Moreover, it was relatively cheap and can be easily readjusted according to the bodily changes of a growing dog. It took a few weeks, but the pup finally got used to moving around with her wheelchair. And with some practice, Gracie started walking and running around just like a normal dog.
