In most stories, the guys from the postal office don’t get such a warm welcome from household dogs. The dogs are usually barking at them and just too eager to see them off their lawns. But, things are different with Moose, a one and a half-year-old Golden Retriever. This adorable pup is always looking forward to meeting his favorite mailman and eagerly waits for his warm hugs.

Moose has only met the new mailman for a few weeks before, but he immediately shared a special bond with him. According to Meghan Gruszynski, Moose’s owner, he’s an exceptional dog as his love and kindness seem to go beyond what most Goldies do. As you all may know, Golden Retrievers are known as the dogs with an inexplicable fondness for their families. Moose has even defied the stereotype that dogs don’t get along with mail carriers.

Meghan recorded some of Moose’s encounter with their mailman and posted them on Instagram. You can see in some video how the pup was eagerly looking forward to that day’s mail so he can get his hugs. Not even minding the cold and snow, Moose sits by the side of the road waiting for the USPS van to arrive. As soon as the mailman stepped out of the truck, Moose has been wagging his tail. He then happily went in for the hug.

The mailman, in turn, showered Moose with affection. The two seemed looked like they shared a few minutes of adorable moments. Even from afar, you can see how Moose is receiving lots of compliments for being a good pup. According to Meghan, when the mailman first delivered mail to the area, Moose already felt the good vibes coming from him. The next time the mailman came, Moose asked to go out for some up close and personal encounter.

Meghan learned that Mr. Postman recently lost his dog and loved Moose’s eagerness to meet him. She said that since the postman has been assigned to their area until he retires, Meghan hopes that he and Moose will have many years of great friendship and adorable encounters.
