There is no doubt that dogs are curious, especially about unfamiliar animals. They like to sniff or smell another creature until they satisfy their curiosity. However, seeing a dog befriend a dolphin is something that people do not get to see every day. This unlikely friendship began when Gunner, a seven-year-old dog, and Delta, a ten-year-old dolphin, met.
At that time, Gunner was only a puppy, and the moment he saw Delta, there was an instant connection that became the reason for their friendship.
The heartwarming photo of them greeting each other with a kiss went viral when it was shared on Twitter. The people who saw the photo were amazed by the unique friendship, and they also wanted to know how the wonderful relationship began because, in most cases, marine mammals would swim away once they face a stranger, let alone a very curious dog. Surprisingly, this was not the case for Delta. As soon as he saw Gunner, he came back to say hello to him.
Even though it was a brief encounter, their amazing relationship did not end there. Gunner’s fur mom took him to the sanctuary since then, and Delta has never forgotten him. Each time Gunner would come to visit him, he would share a kiss with the sweet and affectionate dog. After seven years, the friendship between the two has not changed.
Gunner continued to visit Delta to spend some quality time with each other. With the inspiring friendship they shared, it was no surprise that most of their touching moments had been captured on camera. Delta and Gunner have proven that forming a beautiful friendship knows no boundaries.
Despite their uniqueness and differences, their relationship continues to become stronger than ever because of their fondness for each other. Gunner’s fur mom expects their unusual bonding to last a lifetime.
We have received information confirming the validity of the photo below. This is Gunner and his water buddy, Delta. Delta lives at a seaside sanctuary in the Florida Keys and has been best friends with Gunner ever since he was a puppy. 13/10 for both https://t.co/doLa57OnxI pic.twitter.com/2YfnYS2Xa8
