Emma was rescued by Howl Of A Dog from a city pound in Romania. When they rescued her, she was underweight and hungry.
She also had medical issues like mange and infected sores. Emma was also limping and not using her left leg. Aside from that, the left eye is underdeveloped and had no vision on that side.
Considering that she is also limping from the same side, the rescuers are speculating that a motor vehicle accident might have caused it. Emma must have been hit by a car when she was roaming the streets.
With her condition, she needed immediate medical care, which she thankfully got. The vet did an x-ray to check her limp, and it showed that her hind leg was extremely damaged.
To improve the condition on her leg, she needed to get surgery. But the operation required to wait until her infections were treated. Emma was given a medicated bath after a long day, which made her feel so much better.
The vet estimated Emma to be around two years old, and in two years, this is the first time that she felt pampered and loved. It was beautiful to see Emma come out of her shell and start to enjoy life.
As her infection cleared up, there it was still one thing that she needed to face, which was surgery. Emma is a fighter, and her surgery went well.
She still has a long way to go, but she’s getting there. The team even put ice on the operation site to minimize the swelling, and they also do gentle motion exercises. That’s how well Emma was taken care of.
Emma was scared of using the operated leg at first, but in about two weeks, she started to walk with it. It was great progress.
Now, Emma is enjoying her life under the care of Howl Of A Dog. Emma is waiting for her forever home.
